Description

We are seeking a Volunteer Development Officer (0.6 full time equivalent) to develop, co-ordinate and manage the key processes that support volunteering within the Trust. This is a new fixed term role for an initial period of 2 years.

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust relies on the work of our 500 volunteers to deliver a wide range of our work. Our conservation teams rely heavily on volunteers to undertake maintenance and improvements and to act as volunteer wardens. Our reception is staffed by volunteers. Our education and community engagement teams rely on volunteer speakers and people who help with school visits or other visits to our farm. Volunteering is critically important to us.

The purpose of the role is to develop, co-ordinate and manage the key processes that support volunteering within the Trust that in turn enable us to deliver more effectively against its overall objectives. The person appointed will need to identify, develop and manage approaches to volunteering that are not currently used by the Trust, such as long-term placements and internships.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of volunteering and managing volunteers and of managing projects.  You will need to work well with a wide range of people and be able to develop appropriate systems and processes.

The Trust has committed the resources needed for this new role for an initial period of two years.
