To strengthen our team, we are looking for a (Senior) Consultant Biomass with experience in management / strategy consulting, excellent knowledge of bioenergy and biomaterials and the desire to have a real impact in transitioning the world to a sustainable energy system.
The international bioenergy consultants within Ecofys support clients throughout the entire chain. It starts from the beginning by developing and designing a sustainable strategy and works through to the end of the process until the realisation of projects. Our clients vary from local, national and international governments to industrial, financial or agricultural clients who own biomass, would like to use bioenergy or put their biomass technology into the market. The focus of projects covers a range of areas, for example the development and implementation of biomass related strategies. On top of that, we are one of the leading consultancy companies in development and implementation of sustainability criteria for governments and industries. We work together on making the ideas of today into the reality of tomorrow.
You will be primarily responsible for the acquisition and successful delivery of projects on the design and implementation of bioenergy strategies for corporate and public clients. You will be a representative of Ecofys in the market of bio-based products and services: food, energy and materials.
Specifically, you will be responsible for identifying issues, structuring problems, forming hypotheses, designing and conducting analysis, synthesising conclusions into recommendations, and helping to implement change with our clients. Throughout your assignments, you will guide junior team members. You will be leading discussions and presentations with senior clients, and will actively nurture relationships with them.
You will act as role model and leverage your experience. In this role, you report directly to the Managing Partner Sustainable Industries & Services.
The successful candidate will also provide support to Ecofys’ business development activities for the above described services. The job may require as much as 25 percent travel.
Your profile
If you are enthusiastic about the job described above and you meet the following criteria, then we would be happy to meet you!
- University degree from a leading institution, preferably an advanced degree in energy-related disciplines, natural sciences or an MBA;
- Proactive and convincing personality with an edge for coaching and development of others
- 4-7 years of work experience in management or strategy consulting, preferable in the field of biomass production, processing and application;
- Strong commercially oriented approach and business skills in identifying and exploiting opportunities in a competitive market;
- Demonstrated excellence in solving problems that require logical reasoning, creative thinking, strong analytics, the ability to untangle complex issues, understanding viewpoints and interests of stakeholders and the ability to find constructive solutions;
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, and gain the respect of clients and colleagues;
- Proven ability to lead teams and motivate others to deliver results;
- Affinity with sustainable energy and/or international climate developments;
- Excellent English language skills and ability to work in English; knowledge of another language, especially German, is beneficial.
