The FSC are embarking on developing a new fieldwork offering at Tollymore whereby we will deliver courses at the prestigious National Outdoor Centre. Tollymore National Outdoor Centre, situated on the edge of the Mournes, is Northern Ireland’s National Centre for Mountaineering and Canoeing Activities and is funded and managed by Sport Northern Ireland (http://www.tollymore.com).
We are looking for someone who is flexible, a motivated self-starter with enthusiasm and ambition to build this new venture for the FSC. It is envisaged that the post holder will primarily work out of an office based at Tollymore, however a willingness to teach at FSC Derrygonnelly and other locations is also a prerequisite for success. This role would suit someone with a strong background and passion for teaching geography fieldwork.
The Project Officer will develop, plan and deliver ‘out-of-classroom learning’ activities to a wide ranging audience; engaging and enthusing students and assisting FSC to achieve their goal of ‘Inspiring Environmental Understanding through first-hand experience’. The post holder will be expected to lead groups of all abilities with the capacity to provide an appropriate standard of care for our learners and also make a wide-ranging contribution to the work of the FSC.
This is a fixed term position until 31st July 2018.
FSC Salary Grade: Scale points 16- 19, currently £23,956 - £27,340 per annum based on a notional average of 40 hours per week.
