The ideal candidate will:
- Have prior experience in coordinating conservation or development projects is desirable, particularly experience in managing budgets.
- Be educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification or have relevant work experience.
- Be able to develop positive working relationships with a range of people internally and externally.
- Have excellent organisational abilities and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel.
- A good grasp of marine and freshwater conservation issues is desirable.
- Be pro-active and would become involved in the development / revision of projects, methodologies and reports.
Whilst this is not a technical role, this job would suit a graduate who has an understanding of, and passion for, the conservation of aquatic habitats and fauna.
Please note: This is a part-time (3 days a week), 1 year fixed-term contract (days and hours are flexible). The post holder will be based primarily at the ZSL main offices in London, Regents Park, but may occasionally be required to travel to collaborators based elsewhere in London and the UK. Some water-based fieldwork will be involved requiring flexibility in work hours.
