We are looking for a horticulturist to join our team in the Rainforest Biome.

You will work alongside other horticulturalists assisting in maintaining and developing a range of ‘wild’ and cultivated plantings to the highest horticultural standards.

Essential to the role is the ability to embrace a team environment, and confidence interacting with numerous colleagues and public. We are looking for an individual with the ability and passion to support and guide horticultural students and /or volunteers. A friendly, positive outlook is essential.

Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, have good, all round horticultural experience and an eye for detail. Some knowledge of tropical plants and gardening, and of keeping plant records would be advantageous but is not essential. Ideally, the candidate would hold a cherry picker certificate, P1 and P6, and a rope climbing certificate. A minimum of a B.Sc. degree or many years’ experience and certificates, including teacher training to mitigate not having a BSc degree would also be advantageous.

The position involves driving, spraying and some computer work.

You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic able to work under your own initiative as well as a team player and have good communications skills to work with other departments and visitors.

The closing date for this position is Monday 28th September
