As part of the continued growth of our established multi-disciplinary environment team in Scotland and North East England, we are looking for an environmental consultant with a background in environmental consulting background.
Role
We have a new opportunity for an Environmental Consultant to assist in a multi-disciplinary team.
The role will include:
- Delivering self-managed technical work related to own specialism into projects
- Preparing Environmental Statements for own specialism
- Contributing to other projects using wider environmental skills and knowledge
- Assisting with the coordination of EIAs and other environmental reports
- Project managing small projects
- Planning own workload, looking one month ahead
- Producing project related correspondence and reports, including technical report writing
- Client facing on projects
- Contributing to bids and proposals for new work
- Co-ordinating work of junior staff
Requirements and skills
- Typically four or more years of post-graduate consultancy experience
- Degree qualified in environmental science or other related field
- Ideally a post-graduate qualification of MSc or higher
- Current track record of working on environmental projects (onshore and/or offshore), in a consulting environment
- Developing specialist skills in an environmental topic/area
- Able to flex skills and approach across a wide range of project types
- Studying towards professional qualification or part qualified
- Project management experience, including QA procedures and financial systems
- Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
- Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
- Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges
