As part of the continued growth of our established multi-disciplinary environment team in Scotland and North East England, we are looking for an environmental consultant with a background in environmental consulting background.

   

Role

 

We have a new opportunity for an Environmental Consultant to assist in a multi-disciplinary team. 

The role will include:

  • Delivering self-managed technical work related to own specialism into projects
  • Preparing Environmental Statements for own specialism
  • Contributing to other projects using wider environmental skills and knowledge
  • Assisting with the coordination of EIAs and other environmental reports
  • Project managing small projects
  • Planning own workload, looking one month ahead
  • Producing project related correspondence and reports, including technical report writing
  • Client facing on projects
  • Contributing to bids and proposals for new work
  • Co-ordinating work of junior staff

 

Requirements and skills

 

  • Typically four or more years of post-graduate consultancy experience
  • Degree qualified in environmental science or other related field
  • Ideally a post-graduate qualification of MSc or higher
  • Current track record of working on environmental projects (onshore and/or offshore), in a consulting environment
  • Developing specialist skills in an environmental topic/area
  • Able to flex skills and approach across a wide range of project types
  • Studying towards professional qualification or part qualified
  • Project management experience, including QA procedures and financial systems
  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
  • Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
  • Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges
