Description  

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Merseyrail’s Safety, Security and Sustainability department as Energy and Environment Advisor. We are looking for someone to provide technical advice on energy management within the company, including maintaining effective relationships with the utility suppliers, managing issue resolution, maintain and further develop systems to track consumption and identifying areas for improvement influencing managers to implement. In addition, the role will provide advice to the business to support the achievement of the sustainability goals.

Key Skills

You will be accountable for providing advice and acting as an ambassador for energy conservation and consumption minimisation amongst employees, as well as being responsible for day to day energy management. You will need to build effective relationships with managers across all parts of the business to implement both non-traction (i.e. properties) and traction (i.e. train) energy conservation schemes.

The right candidate will be an effective influencer, able to determine the relevance of energy legislation to Merseyrail with a professional energy (or environment with a strong emphasis on energy) qualifications, with two years’ experience in an energy advisor / managers role. Energy management experience in a railway environment would be advantageous.
