We are renowned for providing consistent delivery of excellent quality water supply and sewage treatment to our customers.  Our operations are correspondingly large scale and include over 400 sewerage treatment works; 15 sludge treatment centres, 100 water treatment works and all the associated infrastructure for this network.  We are part of the Wessex Water Group, which comprises a number of other companies, alongside our regulated business, including engineering and construction, property development and waste management and renewable energy services. 

Our waste water regulation team help ensure that we understand and comply with all relevant environmental quality requirements, regulations and codes of practice.  As Deputy Waste Water Regulation Manager, you will help lead a team to provide a range of expert services and help set regulatory policy for the organisation.  You will also be a key expert liaison with a number of internal and external stakeholders, such as the Environment Agency.  Day to day, you will be responsible for monitoring and internal reporting on environmental quality outputs as well as highlighting, investigating and recommending remedial or preventative action for instances of non-compliance.  Much of your role will be to represent Wessex Water to external professional bodies including regulatory partners to improvement awareness of issues and help develop and implement best practice.  In addition to influencing your internal stakeholders to achieve required standards of operations, you will also be instrumental in maintaining effective working relationships with external stakeholders.

This is a high profile role and you will need to be an established waste water expert with recognised knowledge and credibility.  If you have operations experience in the water industry, all the better. Your well-developed influencing skills will be vital for building professional working relationships and helping  balance the needs of regulatory bodies with our internal operational challenges.    You will be able to demonstrate strong skills in developing policy and translating this successfully for the business.  Alongside your technical expertise, you will need to be an effective people manager too - able to pull together a team and lead them in providing an expert service.
