Cumbria Biodiversity Data Centre at Tullie House Museum is the one-stop-shop for biological records and other biodiversity and geodiversity information for the county, enabling others to better understand, protect and foster the biodiversity of the region. 

CBDC is hosted by Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery Trust which has been a centre for Cumbrian biological records for over a century. The museum, based in  Carlisle, is looking for someone with proven management, interpersonal and IT skills to take full day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of the Cumbria Biodiversity Data Centre. 

This will include management of staff, volunteers and resources. You will have the lead role in liaison with users, development of policies and plans for promotion of the Centre and for fundraising. Key tasks will include grant negotiations and donations, generating income and managing resources and services with existing and potential users to ensure strong advocacy and on-going funding for the project. 

You are likely to hold a degree in environmental science, information management or business management or have equivalent experience. You should have substantial experience of managing complex projects and will have strong people-and-resource-management skills.  You will have experience of strategic planning, working with a wide range of partners, fundraising and customer care and also have an interest in the natural environment and experience of working with organisations within the environmental sector. 

The post is full time for an initial 12 months with the expectation of extending the contract should the current level of funding be maintained.
