Essex Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity. It has more than 35,800 members, manages and protects over 8,400 acres of land on 87 nature reserves and 2 nature parks and runs 11 visitor centres. The aim of Essex Wildlife Trust is to Protect Wildlife for the Future and for the People of Essex. It is supported financially by members, local businesses and grant making organisations. It is one of the largest of the 47 county wildlife trusts that work together throughout the British Isles as The Wildlife Trusts.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Engagement and Education Advisor. The successful applicant will work 37.5 hours per week across 7 days.
Responsibilities include:
- To ensure a high quality visitor experience at centres, through education and community programmes.
- Manage and improve team members’ performance through coaching and training.
- Evolve innovative ways to engage audiences with wildlife through the development of both informal and formal events across the Trust.
- Work with the Visitor Centre and Outdoor Learning Teams to inspire and engage with the people of Essex.

Are you an enthusiastic and engaging individual with a passion for environmental education and wildlife? Do you have extensive experience of delivering environmental education and outdoor learning to a wide range of audiences? If the answer is yes then this could be the role for you.
