Description  

As statutory advisor on nature conservation to the UK Government and the Devolved Administrations, JNCC is looking for a full time Biodiversity Information Assistant to join the Data Services team based in Peterborough on a permanent basis.

This post will be part of the Data Services Team, but will work across JNCC’s other teams: managing data, databases and other technical systems, and advising on good data management. The post holder will have a strong background in data management and have good communication skills. The post will be responsible for the management of business critical data and databases, and will support other staff with data management, seeking technical solutions to improve efficiency.

The position advertised requires good data management and manipulation skills; and some experience of using data management and translation tools such as databases, GIS, or scripts. Ideally the post holder will have experience of using Open Source software.
